NDC HAS IDOLIZE RAWLINGS

The NPP Member of Parliament of Kade, Ofosu Asamoah says some members of the National Democratic Congress have idolized former President Rawlings and that is making it difficult for them to see any fault from him.

He tells Adom News that the ‘worshipping’ of former President Rawlings has been the major cause internal conflicts in the NDC.

According to him, most people are afraid to point out his mistakes to him even when his decisions do not help the party.

Ofosu Asamoah says former President Rawlings has never believed in democracy and always wants everything to be done his way.

He says just as Christians worship Jesus Christ, NDC members also worship Jerry Rawlings.

Mr. Ofosu Asamoah says that a vote for the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is a vote for Jerry Rawlings to rule the country again through the back door.

According to him, since the constitution does not permit Jerry Rawlings to contest any elections in Ghana again, he is trying to use his wife to indirectly rule the country.

End.

NPP READY TO WIN LOST CENTRAL REGIONAL PARLIAMENTARY SEATS

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Owusu Afriyie has promised that the NPP will win most of the parliamentary seats in the Central Region in the upcoming 2012 elections.

He says the NPP lost most of the seats in the Central Region because of the influence of President Mills but now they have strategized to win all the lost seats back.

Rawlings is not being truthful – Yaw Boateng Gyan

The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has said former President Jerry Rawlings is not being truthful by stating that the party’s executives intentionally postponed its National Delegates’ Congress on two occasions to favour some people.

Mr Boateng Gyan says the former President is being misinformed about the day to day administration of the party by elements within his camp adding that those people will soon take all the glory away from him.

Speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM on Thursday, he said the executives never agreed on a specific date to hold congress and said it was unfortunate for anybody to say everything was planned to favour a particular group of persons.

Yaw Boateng Gyan claimed former President Rawlings was present at the National Executive Council Meeting when they took a collective decision to announce the date for the congress and was therefore surprised that he had turned around to make such statements.

Mr. Rawlings, who was a speaker at the launch of Nana Konadu’s flag bearer campaign on Wednesday at the Accra International Conference Centre, launched a series of attacks at the Atta Mills administration, and disclosed that the NDC had lost the 2012 presidential elections some eight months back.

But Mr Boateng Gyan has disputed the statement made by the former President explaining that the NDC is on course and will win the elections despite its internal conflicts.

He described as untrue, the claim that the President lost focus after two weeks in power insisting the NDC can win the 2012 elections without former First lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and that the NDC will maintain power if President Mills or Nana Konadu wins the flagbearership of the party in 2012.

He maintained that the party executives are ready to go all out to campaign vigorously for whoever will win the slot to lead the party.

Yaw Boateng Gyan stated that the party will not accept the old ways of doing things but rather give opportunity for new ideas to be explored.
