NCA GIVES 90-DAY EXTENSION FOR SIM CARD REGISTRATION



The Deputy Director of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Mawuko Zormelo, has revealed that the Authority has given a 90-day extension of the ongoing SIM card registration exercise.

He explains that there is still work to be done with those who have registered hence the 90-day grace period.

He stated that the decision was reached after a meeting with the various telecom operators in Accra today.

Mawuko Zormelo believes that during the grace period all Ghanaians will register their SIM cards.


The Deputy Director of the NCA also disclosed that the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) has also been extended from July 1 to July 7.

He explains that the reasons for the extension are due to the holiday on July1 and the passage of the Telecom Bill on July 6.
