Dr Kwesi Jonah regrets closure of Ghana-Serbia Embassy

The Head of the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, Legon, Dr Kwesi Jonah has expressed his regrets in government decision to close down Ghana’s mission in Serbia.
He blamed western countries for influencing government decision to close down the Embassy. He stated that Kosovo is not even recognised in other African countries.
Speaking to Adom news, he attributed the decision to close both embassies as one of the factors to satisfy the Western Countries who fought for the independence of Kosovo.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni told parliament that the decision by the Serbian Authority came as a result of Ghana’s decision to give international recognition to Kosovo who has recently been declared as independent state.
But the lecturer said Kosovo is a tiny population of 2 million people are dependent on aids from United Nations and other donors to survive, he added.
He said the country is not economy of Kosovo is not vibrant enough for Ghana to close its ties with Serbia for Kosovo.
He has therefore urged government to rescind its decision.
